A woman and her son narrowly escaped death in the tiger attack in village Rohniya of Umaria district close to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve on Sunday.
Rohniya Archana Choudhary (25) and her son Raviraj (2) were severely injured in the tiger attack.
She and her son went for toilet near a fencing of house when the tiger attacked the child first later her mother, she shouted for help and the family members and villagers rushed the spot and rescued them, a family member said.
The boy sustained injured on head while the woman sustained multiple injured on the body from the nails of the tiger.
The family members immediately shifted them to the nearby community health centre, later shifted to the district hospital in Umaria from where they were referred for further treatment to Jabalpur.
The forest official told the local reporters the forest guards tried move the tiger in the forest and the department will bear the expenses for the treatment of the woman and son.
