With the announcement of the winner, MasterChef Australia Season 13 has come to an end. With his incredible and creditable victory, Indian-origin Justin Narayan has made everyone proud.
Justin won the award after beating the other two finalists in the pressure test, Kishwar Chowdhury and Pete Campbell. He even thanked everyone for the support on his unverified Instagram account after the win.
“Find people that believe in you. Back yourself. Go hard and hopefully you will surprise yourself. Whoever’s reading this I love you,” he wrote, sharing a string of pictures from the finale episode. In terms of reward, Justin reportedly took home prize money of USD 250,000 (Rs1.86 crore approximately) along with the MasterChef trophy.
Justin’s win was confirmed on MasterChef Australia’s official Instagram page. They posted a video of Justin’s celebration after winning the competition.
“We think it’s safe to say @justinnarayan”s mind is blown right now,” the post read. Justin Narayan all smiled in the video taken right after the announcement. Justin described the win as a ”surreal feeling” in the clip. “Huge thanks to the judges and other contestants. It was the best experience of my life,” he said.
The 27-year-old defeated finalists Pete Campbell from Australia’s New South Wales and Kishwar Chowdhury from Bangladesh.
This year, the latest season of MasterChef Australia 13 drew a lot of attention, particularly in India. Apart from Justin Narayan, the show also included Depinder Chhibber, an Indian-origin contestant who was a fan favorite.
One of the other three finalists, Kishwar Chowdhury, had also prepared various Indian and Bengali delicacies to satisfy the judges during the competition.
Michelin-star chefs like Gaggan Anand and Gordon Ramsay inspire the MasterChef winner, who began cooking at the age of 13. His cooking is influenced by his Fijian and Indian ancestors. He considers his mother to be the best cook he has ever met.
The 27-year-old pastor’s versatility delighted the judges, who were blown away by dishes such as Indian Chicken Tacos, Charcoal Chicken with Toum, Flatbread and Pickle Salad, and Indian Chicken Curry.
