Anupamaa will soon welcome the new male character to the show, who will be paired with Rupali Ganguly. The makers want to have a parallel story of Anu with another man now that Kavya and Vanraj are married so that the two stories will run in the serial at the same time.
The show’s producers have long promoted it as having a modern vision but a semi-traditional background. Rajan Shahi recently announced that a new male character will be introduced on Anupamaa soon and that he will be paired with Rupali.
The team, on the other hand, is not in a rush to appoint someone without first evaluating the benefits and disadvantages. Rather, the writing team is now focusing on a plot. It will ensure that the track starring the new male character will begin in August of this year.
Arshad Warsi, Ronit Roy, and Barun Sobti were mentioned in the past, but the producers denied approaching them. Rather, they’ve indicated that Barun is too young to play opposite Rupali and that they’re looking for a really strong actor who can match Rupali Ganguly’s screen dynamics.
Anupamaa’s team is likely to sign television veteran Varun Badola, who was last seen with Shweta Tiwari in Meri Dad Ki Dulhan. Varun has proven over the years that when given the chance, he can provide a strong performance.
Another interesting fact is that producer Rajan Shahi does not want to take any chances with this new role. Thus he intends to work with an actor with whom he has already worked and had a positive experience.
Apurva Agnihotri, who had appeared in Anupamaa as Dr. Advait for a short period. He had worked with Rajan in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi.
Varun Badola had such a cameo in Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and his character was well appreciated. So it won’t come as a shock if the Phir Subah Hogi actor is cast as Anupamaa’s new male lead.
