As the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state is decreasing, there is speculation that the Puri Srimandir administration will consider relaxing the darshan restrictions for worshippers in the first week of August.
On August 4, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration will have a crucial meeting. While the meeting (virtual) will be presided over by the Srimandir’s top administrator. The Puri collector, SP, and CDMO, among others, are scheduled to join.
Since the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak hit the State in April this year, devotees have been barred see the Holy Trinity.
“The restrictions have been into effect for nearly two months now. We were unable to see Lord on Ratha Jatra this year as well. At the very least, the authorities should now open the gates for us “a devotee remarked.
The government first allowed devotees to see the Holy Trinity by removing access restrictions. All of the Covid rules were strictly followed. If devotees are allowed into the Srimandir, they will certainly follow the rules during darshan, as per a devotee.
Previously, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the rituals of the annual Ratha Jatra in Puri were performed without devotees.
