Urban Development and Housing principal secretary Manish Singh urged to motivate people for water conservation through community activities.
He reviewed the various water supply projects implemented by the Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company.
Singh said that in the projects where experimental trials have started, instructions have been given to motivate people for water conservation through community activities.
The department has started experimental trials in the Betul Bazar, Petlawad, Mauganj, Sohagpur, Bankhedi, Phumpkalan, Isagarh, Susner, Shadaura, Hata, Bhedaghat and Makedon, he said.
While doing review of the projects, Singh directed all the projects should be completed within the prescribed time limit. The issues that cause obstructions and delays in the projects must be resolved expeditiously.
And the same must be reviewed every week, he said.
It is worth to mention that Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company, an undertaking of Urban Development and Housing Department, is working on water supply project in 130 water bodies in collaboration with Asian Development Bank and 4 water bodies in collaboration with World Bank.
Urban Development and Housing Department commissioner cum managing director Nikunj Shrivastava, additional commissioner Ruchika Chouhan and chief engineer Deepak Ratnawat were present in the review meeting.
The Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company Limited does monitoring of physical and financial progress of sanctioned projects, prepare detailed project report and implement urban development projects and ensure receipt of utilization and completion certificates.
The company would take proactive steps to promote private sector participation in urban development projects, identify the investment requirement, phasing and viability of new development areas, through facility studies.
The raising funds/grants received from the central government, state government and other fundings agencies like World Bank and other institutions. Appraising projects submitted by the urban local bodies and agencies.
To assist urban local bodies and UDAs in identification, preparation, structuring and execution of projects in local infrastructure with/without the assistance of the private sector. Besides the company will assist the urban local bodies /agencies in preparation of detailed project reports in training and capacity building.
