The Special Court, CBI (Vyapam Cases), Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Ajay Pratap Singh (Impersonator) & Narottam Singh Dhakar (Candidate) both to undergo 4 years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 8100 each in a case related to Vyapam.
The CBI had registered a case on 15.12.2015 in compliance of the orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and had taken over the investigation of a case, earlier registered vide Crime No. 332/2012 dated 30.09.2012 at Police Station, Purani Chawani, Gwalior against Ajay Pratap Singh and Narottam Dhakar on the allegations of impersonation in the Police Constable Recruitment Test 2012.
It was further alleged that the Centre Superintendent informed SHO, Police Station- Purani Chawani that at an impersonator was appearing in the examination at Roll no. 270599.
Accordingly, the said impersonator Ajay Pratap Singh was caught at the examination centre impersonating the actual candidate Shri Narottam Dhakar.
On questioning, Ajay Pratap Singh accepted that instead of Narottam Dhakar, he was appearing in the examination.
During investigation, it was revealed that the Impersonator was arranged by two middlemen to appear in Police Constable Recruitment Test 2012 for the actual candidate Narottam Dhakar. Expert opinion on handwriting and thumb impression also established that Ajay Pratap Singh appeared in place of actual candidate (Narottam Singh Dhakar).
After investigation, CBI filed supplementary chargesheet against both accused and also two middlemen before the Competent Court at Gwalior on 09.11.2016.
The Trial Court convicted the said two accused and acquitted two middlemen.
