Voting is being held in six Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies of the state on Friday, April 26 in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections-2024.
The Voting starts from 7 am to 6 pm in Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No.-6 Tikamgarh (SC), No.-7 Damoh, No.-8 Khajuraho, No.-9 Satna, No.-10 Rewa and No.-17 Hoshangabad.
All the polling parties have reached their respective polling stations for voting earlier. The polling personnel were welcomed with flowers on reaching the polling station.
Holiday on voting day
For the convenience of voters, there is a public and general holiday on polling day (April 26) in the above six Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies of the second phase.
The state government has declared public holiday and general holiday in the respective areas on the day of polling in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
Citizens will be able to get information about voting percentage from Voter Turn-out App and CEO MP website
On the day of voting (April 26), updated information about voting percentage will be available on the Voter Turnout App of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer’s website, Madhya Pradesh https://ceomadhyapradesh.nic.in.
Through this, citizens will be able to get information about the voting percentage recorded every two hours. Citizens will have to download the Voter-Turnout App by visiting Google Play Store.
Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has called upon all the voters of the state to participate in the great festival of democracy by voting in various phases of Lok Sabha Elections-2024.
The Chief Electoral Officer has urged citizens to reach their polling station on 26th April and cast their vote fearlessly and take an active part in strengthening the Indian democracy. He said that voters are the carriers of the rich democratic traditions of prosperous India.
Our democracy becomes sophisticated and prosperous only through the active participation of voters.
Voting has provided another opportunity to enrich the democratic tradition and fulfill our constitutional duty.
Shri Rajan has said that free, fair and transparent election process is an important step in democracy.
He has appealed to every voter of the state to vote freely and fearlessly. Rajan has said that during the voting, strict security arrangements have been made in the polling stations.
Strict action will be taken against those spreading any kind of misleading information or rumours.
Rajan has said that to make the entire election process simple, accessible, transparent and inclusive, senior voters above 85 years of age and voters with more than 40 percent disability have been given the facility to vote from home.
Through “Saksham App” Divyang voters can request for wheel chair or other necessary assistive devices.
To ensure that the elderly do not have to stand in queues, they are being given the facility to vote first.
Adequate arrangements have been made for shade and cold drinking water, medicines etc. in all the polling stations.
