The villagers of Ajnol in Bhind district on death of any villager during monsoon have to perform last rites on road.
There is no crematorium in the village. The general practice in the village is to perform last rites in the agriculture field during other part of the year.
During monsoon the rain water is filled in the agriculture field therefore they are unable to perform last rites there.
All such is happening at the time when the State government has introduced various policies and even has taken steps to ensure there should be crematorium in each village for which government land is provided.
But how this village was left is a matter of concern, the sources said.
The centre and state governments disburse hefty funds every year for development of villages. The politicians vow voters in name of development of the village, but even today the village struggle for such problems.
The video and picture of this incident of Ajnol village went viral on social media. It is seen in the picture that the body is being cremated on a portion of the road.
The people reportedly told that there is no crematorium in the village and during rains they have to perform last rites on the road as the agriculture fields are filled with water.
It is difficult to perform last rites on the wet land.
The villagers raised the issue for developing the facility of crematorium before the surpanch and officials but they are left unheard.
The village falls in the assembly constituency of sitting minister.
Congress District President Man Singh Kushwaha said that the situation in Ajnol reveals how the administrative system is working as even today the people have to struggle for basic amenities. He doubts over the claims of the government of extending benefits of welfare schemes to the people. Such pictures expose them as even today people are struggling for basic facilities, he added.
