The Covid vaccination program for people aged 18 to 44 years will begin in Uttarakhand on May 10, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Following a spike in Covid incidents, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat directed officials to speed up Covid-19 vaccination in the state. He checked the vaccination status in the Secretariat through video conferencing.

Blood plasma from individuals who have recovered from Covid, according to Rawat, will be used to treat other infected patients. He urged those who had survived the infection to donate blood plasma in order to save lives.
The state control room in Uttarakhand recorded 8,390 new Covid-19 cases and 118 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases now stands at 2,38,383. Over that time frame, 4,771 people were cured of the disease. In the meantime, there are 71,174 active Covid-19 cases in Uttarakhand.

According to Negi, the number of people being released from hospitals following surgery is on the rise, with 90% of patients recovering at home.
He expects two lakh doses of anti-Covid vaccine to arrive shortly for inoculating people over 45 years old, followed by 1.20 lakh more doses, he added.
