The Dehradun District Magistrate (DM) has called a full lockdown in Mussoorie’s Galway Cottage and St. George’s School, Barlow Ganj districts, according to news agency ANI.
The DM said in an official notification sent on Saturday that all shops and offices in the affected areas will remain closed. The district administration will organise the selling of important products, according to the official.
“The sale of essential items will be arranged by the district administration. During the shutdown, people in these areas would be forced to remain indoors, with only one person per family permitted to leave the house to purchase essential items from a government mobile shop in the area “Dehradun’s district magistrate, Ashish Srivastava, said as much.
At this time, there are 583 active cases in the hill district, with a total of 97,754 Covid-19 cases in the state, and 1,702 people who have died as a result of the viral infection.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand’s newly sworn-in Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat agreed on Friday to dismiss all cases filed in connection with Covid-19 norms breaches.
The state cabinet has agreed to suspend all cases filed for violations of the Covid-19 rules, according to State Chief Secretary Omprakash.
The chief secretary has given orders for all assembly constituencies to commemorate the government’s four-year anniversary on March 18th.
Lockdown in other states
meanwhile Punjab has put a night curfew in Patiala, Ludhiana, Mohali, and Fatehgarh Sahib, while Maharashtra has announced a full lockdown in many districts.
