In a horrendous incident, a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district is accused of beheading his juvenile daughter After he spotted her in “an inappropriate” place with a youth. The Village locals were in stun when they witnessed 41-year-old Sarvesh Kumar walking to the nearest police station with decapitated head of his daughter in hands.
Police said Sarvesh had taken the decision because he was infuriated at the supposed relationship of his daughter with a youth from the village whom he didn’t like. Upon seeing them in a compromise position two days ago, he wanted to teach his daughter a lesson. The man was spotted heading into the police station with the severed head in his possession. He gained notoriety in social media with his video with his head and revealing the victory sign.
Two cops apprehended him after locals alerted them, and he was taken to a police station 143 kilometers from Lucknow. The suspect had been detained, according to Superintendent of Police Anurag Vats, and further action was being taken.
Additional SP of Hardoi Kapil Deo Singh said “A person named Sarvesh killed his daughter and was spotted carrying her severed head on the road. We intercepted him after we got information about it and he has been taken into police custody… A photograph of a policeman showing him carrying her head inappropriately has come to our notice. The policeman has been suspended”.
The girl’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, according to a senior police officer, and further action is being taken. “The perpetrator is being questioned, and we will present him before a judge soon” says the official.
Uttar Pradesh moved to the top of the list of states with the largest number of offences targeting females in 2019, according to the recent data published by the National Crime Records Bureau last year.
