US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. With a focus on strengthening bilateral ties between India and the United States, as well as regional concerns such as Afghanistan, global terrorism, and the Indo-Pacific, among other issues, with Indian authorities.
On Wednesday, Blinken spoke with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval about the Taliban offensive in Afghanistan. This has been accompanied by brutality against innocent civilians, as well as China’s increasing belligerence in its quest to become the world’s number one.
The visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed a strong convergence between the Quad’s oldest and largest democracies. China, and the Indo-Pacific, Washington shifting closer to New Delhi’s viewpoint on Afghanistan’s Taliban offensive and dropping its aversion to the exiled 14th Dalai Lama.
India isn’t the only country to face Chinese aggression, Many other Quad powers have been singles out by Beijing activating land, sea, or trade disputes. China had already barred its citizens from social media, its plan and machine, and information warfare has been into several overdrives attacking the Quad partners.
They have been exploiting the fault lines within the security groups. Beijing’s all-time client Pakistan is again playing the double game. He has sent the Taliban delegation headed by Mullah Baradar to China. Also, the DG (ISI) Lt General Faiz Hameed and Pakistan NSA Moeed Yusuf visited Washington. Experts say this was to assure Biden’s administration that the Taliban will deliver its commitments and extract leverage for PM Imran khan on the economy.
Both India and the United States are on a strong bilateral foundation. As seen by the relationship between their foreign ministers, the Biden administration is willing to hand over the advanced defence and other technologies to New Delhi as a significant defence ally.
The openness with which Indian and American interlocutors exchange notes on sensitive issues shows the strong trust in the bilateral relationship. Part of the rising convergence between India and the United States is the joining of hands for vaccine production. It will also focus on the development of resilient global supply chains that are not dependent on a single country.
When PM Modi will visit Washington in October for the Quad Summit, these initiatives will be strengthened.
