The union government has constituted an expert committee to enquire into the mishaps of Electric Two Wheelers and make recommendations on remedial steps, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari tweeted .
Nitin Gadkari tweeted on Thursday “several mishaps involving Electric Two Wheelers have come to light in last two months. It is most unfortunate that some people have lost their lives and several have been injured in these incidents”.
Nitin Gadkari tweeted “We have constituted an Expert committee to enquire into these incidents and make recommendations on remedial steps”.
“Based on the reports, we will issue necessary orders on the defaulting companies. We will soon issue quality-centric guidelines for Electric Vehicles”, he said.
He warned “If any company is found negligent in their processes, a heavy penalty will be imposed and a recall of all defective vehicles will also be ordered”.
In December 22, 2021, the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries in year-end review of heavy industries -2021 focused for Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Phase II Scheme redesigned in June 2021.
The Scheme aims at faster proliferation of Electric Vehicles (EV) by lowering the upfront costs.
