Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that the “Udyog Mitra Yojana-2024” has been implemented to provide relief in payment of construction costs in necessary infrastructure to new industrial and commercial applicants and for the convenience of high-pressure and low-pressure industrial and commercial consumers of the state for reconnection of permanently disconnected electricity connections and relief in payment of dues.
This scheme will be effective for 2 years.
Minister Tomar has said that through this scheme the distribution companies will be able to recover the outstanding amount from the permanently disconnected consumers.
Besides, there will be an increase in revenue due to reconnection and an increase in electricity sales due to new connections. This scheme will also be helpful for the industrial development of the state.
Eligibility
Under the scheme, all permanently disconnected industrial and commercial consumers of high and low pressure category, who wish to get reconnection or new connection by depositing the outstanding amount as per the scheme, will be eligible.
Along with this, new applicants from the industrial and commercial categories, who want to get the electricity infrastructure constructed for electricity connection from the electricity distribution companies will also be eligible.
Under the scheme, consumers will have to pay a lump sum of a minimum of 20 percent of the total outstanding amount payable on the date of permanent disconnection before giving the connection.
In cases of new connections, a minimum of 20 percent of the required infrastructure cost will have to be paid in lump sum along with the application.
The remaining amount can be paid with monthly bills along with interest for a maximum of 3 years.
To avail of the benefits of the scheme, the applicant will have to apply to the General Manager/Circle Office.
Also, an affidavit will have to be given on stamp paper of Rs 500 that he will pay the amount as per the provisions of the scheme.
For new connections, applicants will have to apply online and will also have to pay the service connection fee, security fund, etc. prescribed by the Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Necessary infrastructure will be constructed as per the SOR prescribed by the power companies.
If the scheduled installments and monthly bills are not paid, the electricity connection can be disconnected by giving 15 days’ notice.
Consumers will be able to avail the benefits of the scheme only once.
If a consumer transfers his premises to another person during the plan period, the new consumer will be able to avail all the facilities under the prescribed conditions.
In case of any dispute under the scheme, the matter will be resolved by the departmental committee.
The committee will include the Additional Chief Secretary of Energy, the Managing Director of MP Power Management Company, and legal experts.
The managing director of the concerned electricity distribution company will be the convenor of the committee.
Applications received during the plan period will also be considered. In every case, all the applications received till the last day of completion of the scheme will be resolved within 30 days from the date of completion of the scheme.
