Even the brightest of us have devised ingenious ways to get a day off from work. But we are almost positive that the majority did not say they were Lord Vishnu’s 10th Avatar, insisted on demonstrating it one day and then explained that the office was no suitable setting for “doing penance.” In 2018,
an official of the Gujarat government virally said he was Kalki, a reason he used to excuse his absence from work. Nearly three years after he has discovered the previous news, he is now viral on Twitter for getting the “most” reason.
When Rameshchandra Fefar, then a superintending engineer with the Sardar Sarovar Punarvasvat Agency (SSPA), made the shocking claims, he was referring to a show cause notice. When he was in the office in March 2010, he realised he was Kalki Avatar for the first time.
“I’ve had divine powers since then,” he explained to the press. He had been unable to attend because he was busy with penance, which was, coincidentally, bringing rain to the region, as he informed his office.
“Just like everybody laughed at me at the time of Mahabharata, you guys are doing the same because you’re unable to see God in me,” he had told news agency ANI.
“Can you think of a better excuse to skip work?” asked Twitter user Salil Tripathi sharing a screenshot of the article.
