As the central congressive leadership in its Punjab branch struggles with dissent, indications of discontent are being reported in Haryana.
On Monday at least five Haryana party MLAs visited KC Congress Secretary-General Venugopal and called on the central leaders, before taking any decision on appointments to state district congressional committees, to hear their views.
It is been reported that all MLAs who met Venugopal are connected to Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a former Chief Minister.
Lobbying for prominent jobs has started between the opposing parties in the State Unit with organisational change and fresh cards.
The parties at their party headquarters met with the K.C. Venugopal to convey their concerns about the probable appointments at districts and block levels in five of the MLAs-Kuldeep Watts, Varun Chowdhury, BL Saini, Raghubir Kadyan and BB Batra.
The MLAs are taught that they should be consulted by the leadership of the party before any final decision is reached.
India Today TV reported that Hooda camp is concerned that Kumari Selja, head of state unit, supporters can get away with majority of the leading jobs.
MLA Kuldeep Vats stated in a speech to media, “Before KC Venugopal, we have made our requests. He promised us that during the decision on DCCs and PCC positions, MLAs will not be neglected and all of them will be trusted.”
On the matter of guard change in the state unit, Vats remarked, “The party’s top command will determine this. Our views have been stated. But I must say that the Haryana Congress has no crisis. We’re going to be good.”
“We accept that there was a shortcoming on our part. In the last few years, we didn’t have a proper organizational structure,” he said.
MLA BB Batra informed the media that after talking with the MLAs, the DCC, block, and PCC should be rejected. But the MLAs denied Kumari Selja any rift. One of them added, “We have no issue with Kumari Selja, but it’s not true. This is what the top command of the party is going to do. We have no part in it. We have no role.
