Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, who is in power for five consecutive terms, has only Rs. 3930. He has never filed income tax return till date. This information was obtained from the election affidavit given by the Chief Minister with the nomination papers. The government, contesting from Dhanpur seat, filed its nomination on Monday.
Left leaders donate their full salary to the CPI (M) and they get five thousand rupees as a living allowance from the party. In the affidavit it was said that the leader of the 69-year-old has Rs 1520 and the remaining 2410 in his bank account. No other amount is deposited in the bank. They do not have any agricultural or home-made land. She lives in the official residence of the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister’s wife Panchali Bhattacharya is a retired employee of the Central Government. They have cash worth Rs 2014, whereas in two bank accounts, 124101 and 86473 are deposited. Panchali has inherited 888.35 sq ft of land and till now has invested 15 lakh rupees for the construction there. The present value of the land is 21 lakh rupees. He last filtered income tax returns in 2011-12, where he told his income 4,49,770 rupees.
