President Draupadi Murmu honored two water warriors of Madhya Pradesh Anita Chaudhary and Ganga Rajput with the Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman-2023 today for their special contribution in water conservation. The awards were presented at the investiture ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Village Sarpanch Neetu Parihar also received the Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman-2023 for her exemplary performance in the field of cleanliness. Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat presented this award.
Jal Sakhi Anita Chaudhary of Chhindwara district was awarded in the operation and maintenance category of piped water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission. Due to his efforts, Garhmau village of the district has been declared as Har-Ghar-Jal Gram.
Jalyodha of Chhatarpur district Mrs. Ganga Rajput has been awarded under the National Water Mission. With his untiring efforts, he made a special contribution in making the women of Bhoyra village alive by dispelling folk misconceptions and making them alive.
Sarpanch of Gwalior district Neetu Parihar was awarded under Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin. He has made extraordinary contribution in making Gram Panchayat Pura Banwar ODF plus Adarsh Gram.
A total of 18 awards were presented at the event in different categories in Jal Jeevan Mission, National Water Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin. Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel and Shri Vishweshwar Tudu were also present at the function.
