A Court awarded double death sentence to three persons for killing a couple.
The double death sentence was awarded to Ravi Kushwah, Raja Kushwah and Vinay Kushwah for murder of Pushparaj Kushwah and his wife Neelam Kushwah in area under Gorakhpur police station in Jabalpur.
The court of Fourth Additional Sessions Judge Anil Choudhary held it is the rarest of rare case to award double death sentence to trio and hang them till death.
The trio were also convicted under section 450 for seven years rigorous imprisonment, sections 307/ 34 for seven years rigorous imprisonment, under section 324 for one year of rigorous imprisonment, sections 324/34 for six years of rigorous imprisonment.
One of the convict Vinay Kushwah was sentenced to one year RI under section 25(1-Kha) of Explosive Act.
The accused persons stabbed Pushparaj and Neelam whom intervened in the scuffle over certain issue went in the house of complainant Golu Kushwah on June 14, 2021, later the couple died in the government hospital while undergoing treatment for severe body injuries, Uikey said.
The accused persons entered the house of the complainant by jumping across the boundary wall and abused the wife of complaint and stabbed the complainant when he intervened and even his five year son was injured in the scuffle, Uikey said.
