Three persons accused have been arrested by the forest department from Khawasa range under the buffer zone of the Pench Tiger Reserve in district Seoni.
The forest department arrested the accused for illegally keeping and transportation of wild animal tiger and Pangolin CP components. One motor cycle has also been seized from the accused persons.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J.S. Chouhan said two accused persons out of the three arrested are residents of Seoni district and another from Balaghat district.
On Tuesday, the Forest Department received information that some of the accused persons were trying to go to Nagpur on a motor-cycle with wild animal body parts.
On the basis of this information, the forest department took prompt action and arrested the three accused, the official note said.
After thorough interrogation of the accused persons, the bone of the wild animal tiger was confiscated. Its weight was found to be 5.3 kg. The tiger big and small bones 74 pieces and the pangolin scales (scale/scale) 2.4 kg were seized.
The court sent the accused persons in custody of the forest department till May 7 next on prayer of the Investigating Officer.
Those arrested including Nirpat age 35 grams Sakin in district Balaghat, Anil Warkade age 35 grams Poria and Tilak Chandra age 33 grams are residents of Mohgaon in district Seoni.
