Three persons arrested for posting objectionable/inflammatory posts on the social media in Jabalpur.
Ashish Tiwari (50) who posted the inflammatory song on the social networking site a resident of Sadar locality was arrested by the police after a case is registered against him in the Cantt. police station on Tuesday.
Mustaq Ansari (34) resident of Subbashah Maidan locality and Anwar (48) resident of Panchkuian locality were arrested for forwarding objectionable and provocative post, both the localities fall under jurisdiction of Hanumantal police station a case is registered against the duo in this police station.
After registering the case the trio were arrested. They are being interrogated about the posts.
Superintendent of Police Jabalpur Siddarth Bahuguna said it is cognizable offence to upload objectionable/inflammatory posts and messages related to caste and communal sentiments on social networking sites like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and such messages are uploaded and forwarded by the anti social elements.
He appealed the people not to share the objectionable/inflammatory posts or mark like those posts and play a role of a law abiding citizen.
The people if receive any such messages inform the police station town inspector of the area/ the superintendent of police/additional superintendent of police.
So that the police might take action against a person for uploading such post on social media, do not take steps under influence or on rumours which might disturb the law and order situation, he said.
The cyber team of Jabalpur police is continuous monitoring and keeping watch on the social media. The police station town inspectors are instructed to take action as per norms. If any law and order situation is disturbed due to sharing or uploading of objectionable/inflammatory posts, videos, comments by any person, than action is obvious to be taken against person involved in it under the provisions of National Security Act.
