MP High Court Chief Justice Ravi Malimath laid the foundation stone for the new complex for MP State Judicial Academy at Jabalpur, the new High Court building for the circuit bench at Indore and the new High Court building for the ciruit bench at Gwalior in a ceremony held at Jabalpur on Sunday.

On the said occasion the Chief Justice said it is a historic day for M.P. as these infrastructural projects will go a long way in ensuring smooth delivery of justice because adequate infrastructure is not just a requirement of the bar but also the bench.

Regarding the new complex for the M.P. State Judicial Academy which is being constructed at a cost of rs. 485.84 Crore, he said that it consists of an administrative, academic, mess and library block.

He also highlighted a very special feature i.e. an auditorium that can accommodate 2,000 people this auditorium has been specially designed keeping in mind the increasing strength of M.P. Judiciary and to ensure that each and every judicial officer could be accommodated in the said hall whenever the occasion arises.

Regarding the new High Court building at Indore, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 307.68 Crore, he said the building would comprise of 07 Floors and would house 31 Court halls including the Chief Justice’s Court Hall.

He further said that this building have all adequate facility for the bar and litigants such as multipurpose halls, bar association hall, separate hall for women advocates, hall for Law Officer of the Central/State, waiting area for litigants and advocates, creche etc.

Regarding the new High Court building at Gwalior, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 406.23 Crore, he said that building would comprise of 31 Court halls including the Chief Justice’s Court Hall along with the ante chambers and other such amenities as contained in the new court building for the high court of M.P. at Indore. The service block of the building consist of multipurpose halls, waiting areas, common rooms for men and women, dispensaries, record room etc.

Lack of infrastructure is one of the primary reasons for not increasing the designated judge strength.

He further said that each of these project have been planned keeping in mind the requirement of the day & that of the future while ensuring need of the litigants.

These project upon completion will aid in dispensation of justice.

The Chief Justice laid the foundation stone of the new buildings in the august presence of Justice S.A. Dharmadhikari, Administrative Judge, High Court of M.P. Bench at Indore, Justice Vivek Rusia, Administrative Judge, High Court of M.P. Bench at Gwalior, Justice Vivek Agarwal, Incharge Chairman, M.P. State Judicial Academy, Jabalpur and other Hon’ble Judges of High Court of Madhya Pradesh.

This foundation laying ceremony was also graced by D.K. Jain, President, High Court Bar Association, Jabalpur, Pawan Pathak, President, High Court Bar Association, Gwalior, Registrar General, High Court of M.P., Member Secretary, MPSLSA, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jabalpur, Additional Advocate General, District Collector, Jabalpur, Superintendent of Police, Jabalpur, Judicial Officers, Members of bar etc.
