Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the aim of my life is to improve the lives of sisters. Many schemes are being implemented for women empowerment in the state. Out of these schemes, the unique Ladli Behna scheme will bring self-reliance among the women. On coming June 10, an amount of Rs one thousand will be transferred to the accounts of the sisters. They will be able to withdraw this amount the next day on June 11. He said that Ladli Bahna Sena is being formed in every village to monitor the schemes run in the interest of women at the field level. Women without any hesitation inform me about the irregularities in the implementation of the schemes. I will not spare the wrong doers.

Chouhan attended the Mahila Sammelan in Jhabua today. The women welcomed the Chief Minister with Bhagoriya dance and showering of flowers. They tied raksha-sutras to the Chief Minister and presented a big rakhi.

Chouhan said that no woman in the state will remain poor nor will she live in compulsion. I will not let tears come in the eyes of my sisters. With the Ladli Bahna Yojana, sisters will be able to fulfill their needs and the needs of the family. He said that by associating women with the Livelihood Mission, their economic condition is being strengthened. It is my resolve that the monthly income of each woman should be Rs.10,000. He called upon the women to join the self-help groups. The Chief Minister said that now a new era has come, where women will be more empowered.

Chouhan said that I salute Jhabua, where there is no discrimination between son and daughter. I had seen discrimination against daughters in many places. To change this mentality of the society, Ladli Laxmi Yojana was implemented in the state. With the scheme, daughters are now being considered a boon and not a burden. He said that as a mark of respect to women, we have kept 50 percent reservation for women in local bodies. The result of this is that today many of our sisters have become panch-sarpanch, Janpad and district panchayat members and presidents. Provision has also been made for reservation for daughters in police, education and other government recruitments.

Chouhan urged all the sisters present that on the evening of June 10, when the amount of Ladli Bahna Yojana will be deposited in their account, they must celebrate by lighting a lamp in their homes. Chouhan said during his emotional conversation that I promise that I will live for my sisters and if I have to die, I will die for my sisters.

Chouhan said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has done a lot of work for the poor and women. We have restarted the schemes which were stopped by the previous government in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan performed Kanya Pujan. The tribal groups gave a beautiful presentation of bhajans. The women also presented a play with a message centred on Ladli Bahna Yojana. Chouhan announced to present an honorarium of Rs. 25 thousand each to both the parties. In the programme, the Chief Minister also dedicated the development works and performed Bhoomi Pujan. Along with this, acceptance letters and benefits of Ladli Bahna Yojana were distributed to the sisters. Chouhan interacted with sisters and Jan Seva Mitras and inquired about the progress and implementation of government schemes. Peepal sapling was also planted at Gill Rest House in Jhabua. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was accorded a traditional welcome by offering Jhuldi and Safa and was presented with a bow and arrow as a memento.
