Congress MP Vivek Tankha recorded his statements in a court related to a criminal defamation complaint filed by him against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and two others over certain remarks about the OBC reservation case of Panchayat Polls heard in the Supreme Court.
The other respondents in the case are BJP state president VD Sharma and Urban Administration Minister Bhupendra Singh. Tankha in his statement stated of not participated in any proceeding in the court related to the OBC quota in panchayat polls and even did not file any petition related to this matter. Supreme Court senior counsel Kapil Sibal was present in the court during recording of the statement of Tankha, Advocate Brijesh Dubey said.
The complaint was filed after Chouhan, V D Sharma and Bhupendra Singh did not reply to a legal notice sent earlier, the counsel added.
