A recent appearance After losing the four-match Test series 3-1, England’s cricket team, led by Eoin Morgan, will look to make an impact in T20 Internationals against India. The five-match T20I series between India and England will begin on March 12 (Friday), with all matches taking place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, also known as Motera Stadium.
The England team is forecasted to put up a good display, with white-ball experts joining Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Mark Wood, and Jofra Archer in the squad. Meanwhile, Morgan’s recent performance as a captain will infuse new life into the side after the team’s defeat in the Test series to India’s tricky wickets.
India’s 19-member T20 International squad against England has three fresh names, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant made a return to the T20I squad after a splendid test result. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has also received a recall to the side for the very first time since 2019.
Chahal, who was an important member of the limited-overs team, returned to the side after a disappointing Australian tour, where he had packed four wickets but proved to be expensive. He’d like to touch his top form in front of IPL 2021. Chahal tweeted his picture of the practise session, saying, “Back to where I belong.”
Team India’s priority will now move from the longest to the shortest style. In limited-overs cricket, England is a totally different side and India would be mindful of the challenge faced by Eoin Morgan and his teammates.
India won their last T20 series against Australia, but they’ll have to pitch a playing XI without Jasprit Bumrah, their best bowler, who is on personal leave. Suryakumar Yadav has been called up to the squad and could play in the first ODI.
However, in the T20I series, the Motera pitch is supposed to be suited for bats, as was often the case in India during white-ball cricket. Ahmedabad could see a lot of fireworks from both ends, owing to both sides’ batting excellence.
