Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan held an online meeting with the Collector and District Election Officers and reviewed the preparations for the Assembly Elections 2023.
During this, Rajan said that the final publication of the voter list will be done on October 4. After this, there should not be any dead or double entry voter’s name in the voter list. If dead and double entered voters are found in the voter list of any BLO, strict action will be taken against the concerned BLO, ERO.
Along with this, Chief Electoral Officer Rajan gave instructions to resolve within the time limit the applications received for addition, deletion and amendment of names in the voter list under the second special brief revision of the voter list.
42 lakh 75 thousand 952 applications were received
Under the Second Special Brief Revision-2023 of the voter list in the state, from August 2 to September 11, 42 lakh 75 thousand 952 applications were received through online and offline for addition, deletion and amendment of names in the voter list.
Out of which 29 lakh 46 thousand 146 applications have been resolved. Resolution of 13 lakh 29 thousand 806 applications is pending, instructions have been given to resolve them within the time limit.
Voter list will be read at all 64,523 polling stations in the state on October 4.
The final publication of the voter list will be done on October 4. During this period, voter lists will be read by BLOs at all 64 thousand 523 polling stations in the state. Sector officers will also be present during this period. Along with this, meetings will be held with recognized national political parties.
Take action by forming a joint team
During the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer Rajan said that all the enforcement agencies should form a joint team and inspect and take action against illegal activities. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Kaul, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Rakesh Singh, Basant Kurre, Ruchika Chauhan were present during the meeting.
