The states and Union Territories had received 453,770,580 as of Sunday morning. There were 420,832,021 doses consumed in total, including wastages. There are still 32,938,559 balance and unused vaccine doses available with the states/UTs.

During the same time period, there were 38,091 Covid-19 cases reported in Brazil, 39,742 in India, and 37,245 in the United States. According to a recent study, embryos as young as five days old can develop receptors that allow the Sars-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19, to easily pass through. The Indian Council of Medical Research and the National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health conducted the research on 45 human embryos donated after IVF procedures at fertility clinics.
The findings suggest that embryos can become infected with Covid-19 in the womb from infected mothers and also during IVF procedures in laboratories, increasing the risk of miscarriage or even failure to conceive in both natural and IVF-induced pregnancy, according to the researchers.
