Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the state government was in process to set up claims tribunal to recover loss to the government and private property from rioters.
Chouhan said “we are setting up a claims tribunal”.
“Whether it is public property or private property, the damage caused will be recovered from the rioters”, he said.
Madhya Pradesh has passed the Prevention of Damage to Public and Private Property and Recovery of Damages Act, he said.
“After assessing the loss, recovery will be made”, he said.
“Along with this, such harshest punishment will be given, which becomes an example”, he said.
Chouhan said Ram Navami was celebrated with unprecedented enthusiasm in the entire state.
But an unfortunate incident has happened in Khargone, he said.
He said the rioters will not be spared, strictest action will be taken against them and there is no place for rioters on the soil of Madhya Pradesh. The rioters have been identified, he said.
Chouhan said action does not mean only sending to jail.
Those who pelted stones and damaged property will be punished, he said.
He said no rioter will be spared.
He hold an emergency meeting with high-level officials at the residence office on the incident of Khargone.
In the meeting Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Director General of Police Shri Sudhir Saxena and other officers were present.
