Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviews backward class welfare department.
State Government will fill the fees for backward classes in recognized universities.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government will submit the fees of backward class students studying in the universities recognized by the government. Besides that, these students will also get free coaching and job oriented training. Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the Department of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department in the Ministry today. On this occasion, the Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department, Lalita Yadav, Chief Secretary B.P. Singh was also present.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the employment oriented training of the youth should be full, so that they can get employment easily. He reviewed all the plans in detail. In the meeting, the Secretary of the Department Ramesh Seyte informed that in the Backward Classes State Scholarship Scheme, scholarship of more than 150 crores is distributed to about 30 lakh students per year. In the year 2017-18, scholarships of Rs. 573 crores were distributed in different schemes. He told that hostels are operated in every district for students of backward classes and girls. The construction work of 100 seater hostels in Ujjain, Bhopal and Gwalior will start soon. In the same way, 500 seater in Jabalpur, Bhopal and Gwalior, 100 seater girl hostels have been sanctioned in Damoh, Ujjain, Rajgarh and Raisen. Ten hostels have been sanctioned for girls and hostel facility provided at development block level.
For the construction of Sadbhavana Mandap in Burhanpur, Khargone, Mhow Cantt Indore and Sheopur under the Minority Bahluli Area Development Scheme, 10 crore 76 lakh have been sanctioned. Similarly, 100-seater minority girl hostel cum computer training center is being constructed in Sheopur, Burhanpur and Khargone.
112 crore 38 lakh loan has been provided to 3151 beneficiaries under Chief Minister’s self-employment and financial welfare scheme. This year 20 thousand students will be given free training and coaching. Last year, 8 thousand 525 young people were given employment oriented training.
On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary Finance Mr. A.P. Shrivastav, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Shri S.K. Mishra and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Vivek Agarwal were present at the meeting.
