Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said approval was granted to provide funds to over 13.60 lakh beneficiaries for self employment in last three months.
Chouhan was addressing a state level programme to launch Mukhya Mantri Udyami Kranti Yojana. Minister of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises and Science and Technology Omprakash Sakhlecha presided the function.
The State government observes ‘Employment Day once a month since January last, he said.
On the first employment day observed on January 12 last, Rs. 2700 was approved for self-employment to more than 5.25 lakh beneficiaries for self employment,he said.
While on second employment day on February 25 Rs 2776 crore was approved for over 5.02 beneficiaries for self-employment and on third employment day on March 30, loan assistance of Rs 2,268 crore was approved for over 3.33 lakh beneficiaries, he said.
In this manner, in the last three months 13.60 lakh youths were benefited under various schemes for self-employment. Chief Minister The chief minister said “it is my dream that youth of the state should become job givers and not job seekers”.
Chouhan said the growth rate of the state this year is 19.7 percent that is highest in the country.
The GDP of the state has increased to 11.5 lakh crores.
The contribution of the state to the country’s GDP has increased from 3.6 percent to 4.6 percent, he said.
The state has undertaken export worth Rs 40 thousand crore this year, he said.
Wheat and rice grown in the state is exported abroad, he said.
Chouhan said every youth should become self-dependent as the state government is committed to provide employment.
The Mukhya Mantri Udyami Kranti Yojana is the beginning of a revolution in the state, he said.
The livelihood is the biggest concern of an individual, so the state government is trying for holistic employment and self-employment, he said.
A campaign has also been launched for recruitment in government service, he said.
He said it is a reality that not all youth can get government jobs, therefore, it is necessary to arrange for self-employment.
The employment opportunities are being created by bringing investment in the state, he said.
