MS Dhoni may have lost his old touch with the bat, but he is still the best captain, according to Vaughan, after CSK beat RR by 45 runs.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan praised Chennai Super Kings captain, MS Dhoni, for his outstanding leadership during the match against Rajasthan Royals. On Monday, Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs to win their second match of the IPL 2021. On the Wankhede pitch, where the pacers have a better record, MS Dhoni used spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali.
Michael Vaughan took to Twitter to name the CSK captain “the best tactician” he has ever seen in T20 cricket. MS Dhoni may have lost his old touch with the bat, but he is still the best captain, according to Vaughan. On his Twitter account, Michael Vaughan wrote:
Vaughan had previously praised India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and expressed his displeasure with the all-BCCI rounder’s deal. Vaughan took to Twitter to say that it was “beyond him” that the BCCI didn’t put Jadeja in the top bracket with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. After dismissing Jos Buttler and Shivam Dube in his single over, Jadeja overtook the Chennai Super Kings back into the fight. Apart from that, Jadeja once again demonstrated his fielding ability by catching four balls in the game.
Jadeja’s all-round skills make him front-runner to succeed Dhoni: Vaughan
“You may say that Dhoni will play for 2-3 more years but let’s be honest, he’s not gonna play a great deal after that. So you’ve got to start looking at who you can build a team around and to me, Ravindra Jadeja is the kind of cricketer that I would build my team around. I just think he’s that good with the ball, in the field, with the bat in hand, his mindset, his mentality is very good,” said Vaughan on Cricbuzz.
