Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the solution to global problems lies in the Ekatmavad mentioned in the Advaita philosophy of Adi Shankaracharya.
While addressing the Brahmotsav in Siddhavarkoot area in Omkareshwar in Khandwa district, Chouhan said that Ekatm Dham in Omkareshwar will express the idea of India’s Sanatani tradition and unity. Thousands of saints, spiritual thinkers and intellectuals from the country were present in the ceremony.
Chouhan said that “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is ideal concept of India. The same consciousness pervades in every human and creature. People who discriminate are small hearted. The philosophy of welfare of animals and birds along with humans will be found only in India. Tulsi, Kabir and other saints and thinkers have considered human welfare as paramount.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Brahmotsav in Siddhavarkoot area in Omkareshwar of Khandwa district today, in which he said that work will be done on the Parivrajan Yojana in Madhya Pradesh. Under this, the saint community along with the citizens, will also be involved in migrating to other places for the sacred purpose of service and adopting projects useful to the society.
He said that the principle of Advaita will be propagated through the youth by selecting the development block. Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas has connected the youth with the idea of unity and human welfare through camps. We to the guidance from saints for this work.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that today bhoomi pujan has taken place in Omkareshwar for such a wonderful Advaita Lok which will shape the future by giving apprising about this philosophy to the future generations. The message of unity and peace from Advaita Lok will go across the globe. This philosophy will top into the minds of the new generation.
Acharya Shankar International Vedanta Institute will also transfer this idea from one generation to the next.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Jagatguru Shankaracharya ji reached Omkareshwar at the age of 8 after traveling approximately 1675 kilometers where he attained Deeksha. After Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, Shankaracharya ji did the work of binding the whole of India in all four directions. Shankaracharya ji was there, that is why India exists today.
Idea of establishing the statue came during the Narmada Yatra
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Advaita Sansthan of Omkareshwar will become a center of world peace through the students of the world. Narmada Seva Yatra was inspired by Mahakumbh during Simhastha in the year 2016. Subsequently, the idea of installing the statue of Shankaracharya ji in Omkareshwar through Narmada Seva Yatra came to mind. To make this a reality, Ekatm Yatra was organised and earthen pots were collected from every house. This spread the idea. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that international thinkers have also included Shankaracharya ji among the great men of the world.
Sages, saints and heads of Akharas praised Ekatm Dham project in Brahmotsav
Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avadheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj of Juna Peethadhishwar said that the project of installing the grand and divine statue of Bhagwatpad Jagatguru on Lord Omkareshwar mountain in this Dham on the banks of Narmada in Madhya Pradesh is amazing. Today many saints from Southern part of India have arrived here. Swami Avadheshanand ji said that Adi Shankaracharya ji has become the backbone of the cultural form of India today. Our culture would not have developed like this if Shankaracharya had not come.
Madhya Pradesh is the land of gurus
Swami Avadheshanand ji said that the heartland of the country is also the land that gives Gurus. Shankaracharya ji met Guru Govind Paad on his arrival in Madhya Pradesh and also met Jagatguru in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was selected by Jagatguru for this work. The establishment of the statue of Shankaracharya in Omkareshwar and the initiative of Advaita Dham is not a human but a godly or divine resolution. Chief Minister Chouhan is not only a good ruler and administrator but also an ardent devotee.
Chief Minister Chouhan’s wife helps her life partner in his good deeds. Shankardoot is also being made in Madhya Pradesh. Youth-catalysts and campaigners are being prepared to spread the message of Advaita philosophy to the society through camps. Avadheshanand ji expressed hope that Madhya Pradesh will remain ahead in service activities.
Parmanand Giri ji of Haridwar said that today is a day of happiness. This day is important not only for Indians but for the entire world. Vedanta is being propagated by the youth, today man is trapped in petty things. These petty things have to be uprooted. That means they will have to be abolished and the idea of unity and Vedanta will have to be propagated.
Suresh Soni said that India is progressing despite turbulences. After a long time, India is expressing ‘Swa’ (self). Places are developing towards India’s cultural consciousness and spiritual tradition. Kedarnath, Ayodhya, Kashi and Mahakal Lok in Ujjain have drawn the attention of the citizens of the country. The hope and aspiration of the citizens is that the country should be united, the efforts to propagate the principle of Advaita are commendable.
Chief Minister Chouhan deserves gratitude for this. The physical image of Omkareshwar will reach the spiritual psyche of the people. Signs are visible that the penance and principles of the saints will be expressed in our behaviour. Today there is a need to bring the idea of Advaita into life. The project of Omkareshwar is like a Gangotri which will emerge in the form of an ocean by increasing the flow of water. This will come true with the inspiration and blessings of the saints. Shri Soni said that in the context of G-20, the idea of one earth, one family and one future has also been strengthened.
Representatives from various fields reached Brahmhotsav
In the Bramhotsav, while on one hand Mitranand Maharaj was present, who provides coaching facilities to the youth to become IAS, on the other the head of Patrika Group, Gulab Kothari, representatives of 13 major Akharas and representatives of various sects of the country were also present. Along with Guru Maa Anandamurthy ji, Padmashree Shri V.R. Gaurishankar also arrived. Representatives from many states, from North to South and from East to West, reached.
Saints also joined virtually in Brahmotsav
In the Brahmahotsav held in Siddhavarkoot, Jagadguru Shankaracharyas of various Peethas also extended good wishes for Ekatm Dham through live message. Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Sharda Peeth, Sringeri Shri Vidhushekhar Bharati Mahaswami ji said that the construction of a grand statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji will give the devotees a feeling of ultimate happiness. He said that the principles of Advaita are infinite. These principles have united various people of the society. Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Shardapeeth Dwarka Sadanand Saraswati ji said in his message that this occasion is very auspicious. At one time, evidence of Veda texts were being sought. Acharya Shankaracharya ji refuted them with his religious sources. Acharya believed that there is a part of God in every living being. Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth, Kanchipuram Swami Vijayendra Saraswati ji said in his message that the essence of the Vedas is world welfare. Today the whole world is accepting this idea. He appreciated the Chief Minister’s social welfare works like Mukhyamantri Kanya vivah Yojana. He said that Chief Minister Chouhan has also expanded the Mahakal religious area. The country will develop with the principles of Advaita and India will soon become a world leader.
At the end of the programme, Culture Minister Usha Thakur thanked everyone on the arrival of saints and participation citizens in this spiritual programme.
‘Brahmotsav began with effective presentation of Shivoham’
Along with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Shivoham dance drama based on the sources of Acharya Shankar was staged in front of the saints, spiritual gurus, enlightened people and citizens who came from the entire country. When the saints reached Omkareshwar, they were traditionally welcomed on the huge platform built at Siddhavarkoot near the banks of Narmada.
The programme started with the dance of Dr. Padma. First of all, the attendees listened to Vedochara and watched the presentation given in Bharat Natyam style by Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subramaniam. Dr. Gayatri Tandon gave vocal recitation in this presentation.

Along with Chief Minister Chouhan, saints coming from different states visited the exhibition organised by Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas in Siddhavarkoot.
