The world has been captivated by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s candid interview with Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey led the two retired senior royals on a two-hour special CBS interview in which they tackled bigotry and dysfunction within the royal family. Following the interview, many celebrities have responded to the couple’s surprising revelations. Although some have backed Meghan, some remain skeptical of her claims.

Meghan and Harry, who have been exposed to a barrage of criticism and intimidation, were given the opportunity to share their side of the story during the interview. Their viral chat has caused quite a stir on the internet. Netizens rallied around the pair and chastised the Royals for mistreating them. Some, including Indian actress and talk show host Simi Garewal, have called Meghan Markle a liar.

On March 8 – International Women’s Day – Veteran Bollywood star and talk show host Simi Garewal went into social media to say she doesn’t believe a single thing that Meghan Markle said.

On Twitter, she wrote, “I don’t believe a word Meghan says. Not a word. She is lying to make herself a victim. She is using the race card to gain sympathy. Evil.” In a later tweet, she admitted that using the word ‘evil’ was ‘excessive’.

After sharing a tweet from her official account, the post went viral quickly, and Twitterati took the comments section to bash the talk show host. As one person put it, “International Women’s Day is full of irony. Why, Simi, Why?” “Lesson: What you shouldn’t do as a feminist,” said another.

Though Garewal was perplexed by Meghan’s statements, there have been a number of people who have backed her up. Her long-time friend, tennis player Serena Williams, took to her social media sites commenting on the kind of bigotry that famous women face in color. In a long heartfelt note echoing feelings of love, the tennis star wrote, “I am so proud of you that I am so courageous. I know it’s never been convenient. You’re strong, both you and Harry. Wow, I love you. I very like you.
