The case of firing by army in Shopian of Jammu and Kashmir is not coming to an end. In this case an FIR was registered by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on the Army, but now the Army has also filed counter FIR in response. According to media reports, counter FIR has been registered against those who have been rocking while firing in Shopian.
What is the matter
On Saturday, firing was done to force the army to meet the stone-bearers in Shopian’s Gonovpura. Two youths were killed in the firing. Another injured youth died on Wednesday. On Sunday, an FIR was lodged against 10 personnel of Army’s Garhwal unit under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of Indian Penal Code. Major has also been named in the FIR which was leading the troops during the incident.
The Mehbooba Mufti policy has ordered the state magistrate to investigate the incident. The army claimed that after the seven jawans were injured in the attacking mob, they had fired for self defense. In this case PDP and BJP in Jammu and Kashmir are against each other.
