Yashwant Sinha, a former Union minister, and BJP leader entered the Trinamool Congress in Kolkata on Saturday, March 13th, just days before the West Bengal elections.
Sinha, who served as Minister of Finance and External Affairs under Atal Bihar Vajpayee’s administration, left the BJP in 2018. Since then, he has been a fierce critic of the central government of Modi.
“The country is facing an unprecedented situation today. The strength of democracy lies in the strength of the institutions of democracy. All these institutions including the judiciary have become weak now,” Sinha said.
