The Supreme Court has directed two doctors of AIIMS to conduct a medical examination of an eight-month-old rape victim and tell her what is her condition. The child is recruited in Delhi’s Kalawati Saran Bal Aastha. The team of two doctors will report on Thursday to the Supreme Court.
bench of Chief Justice Justice Deepak Mishra, AM Khanwilkar and DC Chandrachud passed the order on the petition of advocate Alok Srivastava. The lawyer has demanded better healthcare and reasonable compensation for the child.
The bench said that the team of doctors will go to the hospital to see the baby immediately and will see if she can be shifted to AIIMS. The court said that if doctors feel that they do not need to shift to AIIMS then they should start treatment there.
This case was mentioned in the morning in front of the Chief Justice’s bench, which the court kept to hear at two o’clock in the afternoon.
During the hearing, the Central Government lawyers ASG, Tuxtar Mehta, PS Narasimhan and Pinky Anand were also present. He said that the health of the child is the most important. The team of doctors will report in court on Thursday.
It is worth mentioning that this 28-year-old cousin allegedly raped on Sunday in Netaji Subhash Place Colony of north-west Delhi along with this Avodh baby girl. After being seriously injured, this child is being swirled between life and death at Sarawal Hospital.
