Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Council of Ministers decided to amend the MP Start-up Policy and Implementation Plan-2022 to provide facilities to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs at par with women. In these, a total of 18 percent maximum assistance of Rs. 18 lakh will be given on the funding/investment received by entrepreneurs of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category and a maximum of Rs. 72 lakh will be given in four phases. In start-ups promoted by SC/ST entrepreneurs, their participation should be 51 percent.
Approval of Rs 266 crore 71 lakh for new medical college in Damoh
The Cabinet sanctioned Rs. 266 crore 71 lakh for the construction works as per the recommendation of the project examination committee to establish a new medical college in Damoh. According to the geographical location of Damoh, Tikamgarh and Panna region, Damoh is located in the middle and the distance of other medical colleges from these three regions is more than 100 km, with this decision, tertiary level medical facilities will be provided to the people of Damoh and nearby districts. Along with this, 100 MBBS seats in the medical field will also be increased for the students of the state.
Approval to increase the compensation for loss of life caused by wild animals from Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh
Council of Ministers gave post-facto approval to the Forest Department’s order to increase the compensation amount from Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh for loss of life, injury to people and loss of animals caused by wild animals.
Writers and artists will get assistance amount of 25 thousand to 1 lakh rupees
In order to provide financial assistance to the needy litterateurs and artists of the state in case of prolonged and serious illness, accident, natural calamity and death, the Cabinet has approved to issue new “Madhya Pradesh Artist Welfare Fund Rules-2023” scheme, modifying the artist welfare fund conducted by the Culture Department. In the earlier scheme, there was a provision to provide assistance of only Rs. 500 to Rs. 5 thousand to the needy writers and artists of the state in case of serious illness, accident, natural calamity and death.
The amount to be sanctioned on the recommendation of the competent committee constituted in the new scheme is to be increased from a minimum of 25 thousand to a maximum of 1 lakh rupees, in which in case of death of the artist/litterateur, his successor will get a maximum of one lakh and for medical treatment a maximum of 50 thousand rupees can be given. A maximum of one lakh rupees can be given to a Divyang artist/writer for the treatment of disability. Among the family members, the dependent wife/husband of the writer/artist, dependent parents, dependent minor siblings, dependent minor children and dependent widowed daughter along with dependent Divyang siblings will also be included in the dependents.
Approval of 85 crore 35 lakh for renovation and modernization in thermal and hydropower houses
After the fault in the national grid in the year 2012, the Central government has done various works in the 400/220 KV sub-stations located in the power houses of MP Power Generating Company Limited from the Power System Development Fund set up for the strengthening of the transmission system, with a total cost of 85 crores 35 lakh rupees, which was approved by the Cabinet. For this work, the State Council of Ministers has decided to give approval to provide Rs. 6 crore 54 lakh as share capital, Rs. 58 crore 86 lakh as grant from Power System Development Fund and Rs. 19 crore 95 lakh by MP Power Generating Company.
Other decisions
The Cabinet authorized the continuation of 6 thousand 474 temporary posts of the Narmada Valley Development Department till March 31, 2026, and authorized the Narmada Valley Development Department.
