Senior Congress pioneer Salman Khurshid’s home in Nainital’s Ramgarh was purportedly vandalized on Monday following debate over his book in which he has contrasted Hindutva and fear based oppressor bunches Boko Haram and ISIS. The police have booked 20 individuals in the episode, authorities said.
Bhupinder Singh Dhoni, responsible for Bhowali police headquarters in Nainital area said that the guardian of Khurshid’s home in Ramgarh has documented a grievance. “As per the grievance, certain individuals were fighting before Salman Khurshid’s home. One of them tossed some inflammable material into the house because of which the wooden entryway burst into flames. We are investigating the matter,” he said.
Dhoni said they have booked 20 individuals regarding that situation, including one Rakesh Kapil and 19 anonymous.
Dhoni said the charged have been reserved under segments 147 (revolting), 436 (underhandedness by fire or unstable substance with plan to annihilate house), 452 (house-trespass after groundwork for hurt, attack or unfair limitation), 504 (deliberate affront with aim to incite break of the harmony), 506 (criminal terrorizing) and 427 (naughtiness making harm the measure of fifty rupees) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Sharing photographs and recordings of the episode on Twitter and Facebook, Salman Khurshid stated, “I expected to make these ways for my companions who have left this calling card. Am I actually off-base to say this can’t be Hinduism?”
Khurshid’s book ‘Dawn over Ayodhya’, has areas wherein he contrasted Hindutva and fear monger bunches Boko Haram and ISIS. In a section named ‘The Saffron Sky’ in the recently dispatched book, Khurshid has stated, “Sanatan Dharma and traditional Hinduism known to sages and holy people were being moved aside by a strong form of Hindutva, by all guidelines a political adaptation like the jihadist Islam of gatherings like ISIS and Boko Haram of ongoing years.”
Holy people and soothsayers and numerous forerunners in Uttarakhand have censured the assertions in Khurshid’s new book, some in Haridwar even looked for an expression of remorse from the senior Congress pioneer.
Congress public general secretary and previous boss pastor Harish Rawat on Friday said Khurshid should address his assertions and abstain from making any such examinations that fortify toxin heaving powers in the general public. Rawat said, “This can be Salman Khurshid’s own view yet Congress and we as a whole disagree with it.”
