Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the newly constructed Rewa Airport from Banaras, marking Rewa as the sixth airport in the state.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the accelerated pace of development in the country, which is now progressing three times faster than before. He noted that within just 125 days of the new government’s formation, work has commenced on schemes and projects exceeding Rs 15 lakh crore in value, with the majority of the budget dedicated to benefiting the poor, farmers and youth.
A massive campaign is underway to build infrastructure across the country, including highways, new train routes and new airports.
This effort is not merely about constructing with bricks, stones and iron but about enhancing convenience for citizens and creating job opportunities for the youth. The number of airports in India has more than doubled, growing from just 70 in 2014 to over 150 today and many old airports are also being renovated.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the people of Vindhya a significant Diwali gift even before the festival.
The inauguration of Rewa Airport will unlock new avenues for the region’s development, transforming both its landscape and future. Vindhya is blessed with abundant natural resources and all the essentials for growth, but its development had been stalled for years.
The lack of attention from previous governments hindered Vindhya’s progress. However, now there is a focused effort to drive its development.
In 1993, Rewa didn’t even have a railway facility, but today it boasts an airport. Additionally, an expressway connecting Rewa to Bhopal will soon be constructed.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working with great enthusiasm on the fronts of national defense and development and his bold leadership fills the nation with pride.
The defiance once shown by neighboring countries is no longer possible today, thanks to Prime Minister Modi’s courage, which has even extended to striking enemies on their own soil.
Over 200 countries around the world look to Prime Minister Shri Modi with anticipation.
It was his bravery that ensured the safe return of Indian students trapped in Ukraine. Dr. Yadav also credited Prime Minister Modi for the initiation of the river-linking campaign in the state, noting that soon the waters of Rewa will flow back to Rewa itself.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Regional Industry Conclave is being organized in Rewa on October 23 to speed up the industrial development of Vindhya.
With this, there will be investment for industrial development on a large scale in the entire region. The establishment of industries will provide new employment opportunities. Industries based on agriculture and minerals will develop rapidly in Vindhya.
There is good potential for the food industry in the entire division. Facility of container and cargo aircraft will soon be provided to transport goods from Vindhya.
Also, Vindhya residents will be provided air travel for Rs 999. Due to the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Modi and the UDAN scheme, even poor people have got the facility of air travel.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that air ambulance and heli service have been started for assistance to critical patients. Critical patients are being taken to State of the art hospitals by air free of cost. Today, on the day of Karva Chauth fast, Rewa has been gifted with an airport that has doubled the joy of festivity. 25 airstrips along with 6 airports have been developed in the state.
Airstrips will be built in every district of the state. Airports will be built by developing the airstrips of Ujjain, Shivpuri and Datia.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Shri Ram remained in exile on the sacred land of Vindhya for more than ten years.
The governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are making joint efforts for the development of Chitrakoot, the Tapobhoomi of Lord Ram. To provide employment opportunities to the youth, skill upgradation centers have been created in every division where through training, the youth can shape their future.
Many efforts are being made to promote agriculture and milk production. Dairy farmers will also be given bonus. Continuous efforts are being made for holistic development in the state.
He said that till 2003, there were only five medical colleges in the state.
There will be 37 medical colleges in the state in the next two years. The river linking campaign has been started for the first time in the entire country in Madhya Pradesh.
The water of Maa Narmada will reach the fields of farmers in Vindhya region by next year.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed Kanya Puja and released the video film on tourism potential in Rewa district and flagged off the Rewa-Bhopal flight.
Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda said that this is a moment of pride for Vindhya region including Rewa division, when Rewa airport has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. He said that with this, Vindhya will develop in every sector including tourism, industry, employment and health.
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that the coming generations of Vindhya will remember the historic moment of the inauguration of the airport in Rewa for a long time.
There is immense potential for development in Rewa. The inauguration of the Bansagar project by former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee helped change both the picture and destiny of Rewa. Many gifts have been received in the last few years including solar plant in Rewa and the return of Vindhya’s special identity- the white tiger to Mukundpur White Tiger Safari after 46 years. Prime Minister Shri Modi has gifted the airport to take the progress of Vindhya to new heights.
