For the time being, Indians would not be able to explore the island of ‘Kailasa,’ which is situated off the coast of Ecuador. In view of the second wave of Covid-19 infections around the globe, the island, established in 2019 by self-styled godman Nithyananda, has released a decree banning travelers from India, Brazil, Malaysia, and the European Union from entering.
No public is permitted to access the island until further notice, according to a “Executive Order” provided by Kailasa’s “Presidential Mandate,” which has not been recognised as a republic.
All “de factor spiritual embassies of Kailasa” in the four countries mentioned above will remain locked, according to the note. It also instructs all volunteers and ‘men’ of the unrecognised island to quarantine themselves in accordance with local regulations.
Nithyananda, a self-styled godman accused of sexual harassment, has been hiding on an island off the coast of Ecuador since 2019. Nithyananda identified the island as a “Hindu sovereign republic” when he named it “Kailasa.
The tweet accompanying the statement read, “KAILASA’s #PresidentialMandate Executive order directly from the #SPH for all the embassies of #KAILASA across the globe. #COVID19 #COVIDSecondWaveInIndia #CoronaSecondWave #Nithyananda #Kailaasa #ExecutiveOrder.”
Since 2019, Nithyananda has been hiding on an island off the coast of Ecuador. Since being convicted of sexual harassment, he vanished. Nithyananda has since petitioned the United Nations to recognize Kailasa as a sovereign nation.
“All Kailasians, volunteers affiliated with these de facto Kailasa embassies are to quarantine themselves and conform to the precautionary steps prescribed by the local rules,” he wrote in the most recent statement.
Despite Nithyananda’s repeated appeals, the UN has declined to consider his plea to make ‘Kailasa’ a separate state. The rape-accused self-styled godman continues to be the ‘Supreme Pontiff’ of ‘Kailasa,’ but has been missing since 2019.
