In the midst of his continuing battle with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), yoga exponent Ramdev has questioned the legality of Covid-19 vaccinations, stating that he hasn’t received a shot since he enjoys the dual cover of yoga and Ayurveda. Ramdev further said that the pandemic’s mortality demonstrated that allopathy was not completely successful.
“I’ve been practising yoga and Ayurveda for decades, so I didn’t feel the need to be vaccinated. These traditional remedies are available to over 100 million people in India and other nations. Ayurveda will be widely acknowledged in the future, according to Ramdev.
He also said that there was a coordinated effort to disparage the traditional Indian system in comparison to allopathy.
Ramdev recently sparked uproar after a video of him allegedly calling allopathy a “dumb science” emerged. Following concerns from the IMA and Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, he eventually repudiated such remarks.
Ramdev, who was stung by it, raised 25 concerns about the efficacy of contemporary medicine. Following this, the IMA Uttarakhand branch served him with a Rs. 1,000-crore defamation notice, while the Delhi Medical Association filed a police case.
Dr. Ajay Khanna, general secretary of the IMA’s Uttarakhand branch, stated that they are eager to respond to the yoga instructor’s concerns and assertions in an open dialogue.
