A sub-inspector of Rajasthan police allegedly raped a woman in Alwar district for three days. The woman went to file a lawsuit against her husband when she was supposedly locked inside a room and raped continuously. The accused crime took place inside the police station’s compound, in the chamber where the suspect sub-inspector resided According to the police, the woman had contacted the officer on March 2 regarding a complaint against her husband.
The woman had called the officer on March 2 with a lawsuit towards her husband, according to the police. The superintendent of police in Alwar told The press that she had filed a dowry abuse lawsuit against her husband in 2018, which was later settled. “However, according to her, the woman’s husband decided to leave her, and she refused.”
The woman was allegedly assaulted by the sub-inspector in his room on the police station’s compound. According to a story on Northeast Today, the officer is 54 years old. The crime was committed at the Kherli police station, according to the article. When the police learned of the incident on March 4, they filed a FIR. It’s unclear how the finding came to be.
“A FIR was filed on Sunday under section 376 [rape] of the Indian Penal Code after we learned about the incident, and Singh [the accused] was arrested,” he said. “He is being held by the police. The woman has since provided a video tape, which seems to confirm her allegations.”
The inspector general’s office has begun the process of suspending Singh and taking some punitive measures against him. We’re also preparing to take legal action against the SHO.
