Punjab. In a shootout by the Punjab Police, the infamous criminal Vicky Gondar, who had escaped with five other prisoners from Nabad Jail in T Punjab, killed in an encounter. The encounter took place near a village in Shriganganagar district of Rajasthan on Friday. Another gangster, Prema Lahoria, was also killed in this encounter, while a criminal was injured and a hooligan was arrested.
DGP (Intelligence) of Punjab Police, Dinkar Gupta told in Chandigarh that two policemen were also injured in this encounter near Panki village in Rajasthan, just 50 meters away from the border. He said that this operation was done by the organized crime control unit of Punjab Police (OCCU). Following a specific information, the OCCU team led by AIG Gurmeet Chauhan raided the area around 6:30 pm and siege the area. Another culprit here, Lakhwinder Lakhda, gave him shelter.
DGP Gupta said, “Our two policemen, sub inspector Baljinder Singh and assistant deputy inspector Kripal Singh were injured during this operation.” Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has praised the Punjab Police for overcoming the infamous gangster.
