Amarinder Singh, the state chief minister, appeared before a three-member panel led by Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday to settle issues with MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu and take efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots level ahead of the Assembly elections next year. On Thursday, Singh landed in the nation’s capital.

The panel constituted by Congress president Sonia Gandhi to resolve factionalism in the Punjab unit comprises Kharge, former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat and former MP J P Aggarwal.
