Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas announced the Oscar nominees for 2021 today. , Priyanka’s excitement and enthusiasm have grown exponentially. She also has co-produced the film with Ramin Bahrani, Mukul Deora, and Ava DuVernay, in addition to co-starring with Adarsh Gourav (who has received a BAFTA nomination for his role in the film) and Rajkummar Rao. Priyanka shared her zeal about the nomination in a tweet a few hours after it was announced, saying, ” We just got nominated for an Oscar! Congratulations Ramin and team #TheWhiteTiger. Somehow announcing the nomination myself made it so much more special. So so proud.”
Rajkummar Rao, one of Priyanka’s co-stars in the film, took to social media to congratulate her on her Oscar nomination. “We are nominated for the #OSCARS Congratulations #RaminBahrani and team #TheWhiteTiger,” Rajkummar wrote alongside two behind-the-scenes photographs from the set of the film. Rajkummar is seen with Priyanka Chopra, Adarsh Kumar, and Ramin Bahrani in the photos.
Balram Halwai actor Adarsh Gourav responded to the news by writing, “Officially part of an Oscar-nominated film! Ramin Bahrani! You are a legend! So proud of the entire team!! Congratulations everyone! ” Gourav has been nominated for a BAFTA Award in the Lead Actor category for his outstanding performance.
The White Tiger is based on the same-named book by Aravind Adiga. The film is up against Nomadland, directed by Chloe Zhao, and The Father, directed by Florian Zeller. The film has also been nominated for BAFTA 2021 in the same category.
Ramin has been nominated for The Father alongside Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller, Nomadland with Chlo Zhao, One Night in Miami with Kemp Powers, and Borat Subsequent Movie with Sacha Baron Cohen, Anthony Hines, Dan Swimmer, Peter Baynham, Erica Rivinoja, Dan Mazer, Jena Friedman, and Lee Kern.
