Indian actress Priyanka and her husband Nick to announce Oscars-noms for 2021
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, who are currently in London, announced to their fans on Thursday that they would be revealing the nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards in all 23 categories in a live presentation on Monday morning (Monday evening in India) on March 15th.
The pair shared the news with their fans and supporters on their respective social media pages. To make the big reveal, Priyanka and Nick, who lives in London, posted a video taken at their house.
Priyanka, on the other hand, has something else on her mind. The actress asked the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences whether she could reveal the Oscar nominees “alone” in her article. She captioned a video of herself and Nick: “Is it possible, The Academy, for me to reveal the Oscar nominees on my own? Only kidding, Nick Jonas, I adore you! On Monday, March 15th at 5:19 a.m. PDT, we’ll be announcing the #OscarNoms! On youtube.com/Oscars, you can watch it online.”
The Academy also announced on Twitter that Priyanka Chopra and singer-actor Nick Jonas would announce the nominees for all 23 categories. The nominations will be revealed in two parts, each of which will be streamed online around the world.
“Tell me we’re announcing Oscar nominations without telling me we’re announcing Oscar nominations,” the 38-year-old actor said in the video, parroting a common TikTok trend.
However, Jonas, who was standing behind her, reminded her that she had already informed her fans that the nominees would be announced.

Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7, Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland, and Emerald Fennell’s Promising Young Woman are among the films with several awards and are predicted to achieve well. Priyanka Chopra, who was one of the executive producers of Ramin Bahrani’s The White Tiger, is also a clear candidate for a nomination, as the film recently joined the BAFTA competition. The film, which is currently streaming on Netflix, won BAFTA nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor (Male) for Adarsh Gourav on Tuesday.
The Oscars are normally celebrated in early April, but due to the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony has been postponed until April 26. The actual ceremony was also supposed to be a virtual affair this year, with nominees tuning in from their homes via video streams, similar to what happened at the Emmy Awards last year and the Golden Globe Awards recently.
