The police arrested Joy Education Society president and secretary for alleged cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust with its students, an official said.
They are accused of illegal collection of Rs. 25.95 from the students from session 2017-2018 to 2022-2023 academic sessions, the official said.
The Jabalpur district collector Deepak Saxena received various complaints against the Joy Education Society relating collecting fees from the students under various heads without prior permission from the concerned authorities under provisions of Madhya Pradesh Niji Vidyalaya (fees thatha sambandith Vishayo ka Viniyam) Adhiniyam 2017.
On instructions of the district collector the school education department authorities examined various accounts documents of the school including the year-wise audit reports and give opportunity to the school to clarify its position and on examining of documents allege discrepancies were found as result the district administration instructed the department to lodge FIR against the school.
The FIR is lodged in the Vijay Nagar Police Station of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh by a principal of the government school against the Joy Education Society president president Akhilesh Meben, secretary Anurag Srivastava and treasurer Kavita Balecha under sections 318(4), 316 (5), 336(3), 340 (2), 61(2) of Bharatiya Nayaya Sanhita.
