President Draupadi Murmu had darshan of Baba Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain today and offered shramdan for cleanliness in the temple premises under the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ fortnight.

She also swept the temple premises near Kotitirtha.

Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also joined her in shramdaan for cleanliness.

President Murmu also went for Shikhar Darshan of Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple from Kotitirtha.

President visits Shri Mahakal Lok, appreciates crafts of artisans

President Murmu, after visiting Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, toured Shree Mahakal Lok in an e-cart and saw various statues.

She praised the construction of Shree Mahakal Lok and the crafts established there. Governor Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also accompanied her.

Batuks welcome the President with Vedic chanting and Shankhnad

During President Murmu’s visit to Shri Mahakal Lok, a 45-member Batuk group welcomed her near the statue of Neelkanth Mahadev amidst Vedic chanting and Shankhnad.

Folk artists presented the Kathi dance near the Shiv-Baraat sculpture, the Bhagoria dance near the Kalbhairav ​​statue, and the Gangaur dance near the Durlabh Darshan Centre to greet the President. President Murmu greeted the artists.

President Murmu was welcomed at Nandi Gate with bouquets by Governor Patel, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Mahant Vineet Giri, District Panchayat President Kamla Kunwar Deora, Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, and Municipal Corporation Chairman Kalavati Yadav.

All countrymen should cooperate in this work coordinately for a developed nation. Madhya Pradesh has achieved a leading position in the field of urban and rural sanitation.

Many cities of Madhya Pradesh have been declared the best cities for cleanliness. Indore has been declared the cleanest city in the country for the 7th consecutive time.

Bhopal has become the cleanest capital. The President congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and his entire team for their remarkable work in the field of cleanliness.

President Murmu was addressing the felicitation ceremony of Safai Mitras in Ujjain today.

Safai Mitras honoured include Rashmi Tankle, Kiran Khode, Shobha Ghavri, Anita Chavre and Gopal Khare.

The President also performed the bhoomi pujan of the Ujjain-Indore six-lane road to be built for Rs 1692 crore.

At the outset, President Murmu was welcomed by Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav who presented her a bouquet and a replica of Shree Mahakal Lok.

President Murmu said that Avantika is the holy and pious city of Baba Mahakal.

The Gupta period was the golden age of Indian history and at that time Ujjain was an important city of India with an ancient tradition of culture and civilization here.

President Murmu said that 2000 years ago, Ujjain was an excellent center of transportation system besides being the center of international trade.

The great poet Kalidas has given a wonderful depiction of the vastness and grandeur of Ujjaini in his Meghdoot. 

The importance that Alkapuri city has in Devlok, is the same importance that Ujjain city has on earth. I bow down to Baba Mahakal, Avantika city, and the holy Kshipra river.

President Murmu said that many efforts are being made for the integrated development of Ujjain and the state.

Bhoomi-pujan of Ujjain-Indore six lane road has been performed in Ujjain today. Vikram Udyogpuri Medical Devices Park is being built here. Expressways and elevated corridors are being built in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has made commendable efforts.

President Murmu said that in the last 10 years, cleanliness in India has become a nationwide campaign. In the second phase of the cleanliness campaign, we have to achieve the goal of complete cleanliness in the country by 2025.

Work is in progress towards total freedom from open defecation and excellence in solid and liquid waste management in the country.

We have to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s ideal of cleanliness. I myself started my career with working for cleanliness. I was the Vice President in the Municipal Council and used to go to the wards and work for cleanliness and make people aware. Today, awareness about cleanliness has increased among the countrymen. Many cities of Madhya Pradesh have been awarded as ‘Water+’ and ‘ODF++’.

President Murmu said that sanitation workers are frontline cleanliness warriors. I feel proud to honour them today.

We will protect the safety, dignity, and welfare of sanitation workers. “Manholes” are being abolished in the country and now “Machine Holes” are being made. Many schemes are being run to benefit the sanitation workers. Madhya Pradesh has done remarkable work in this field.

Safai Mitra Sammelan of Ujjain will give the message of sacred service in the country: Governor Shri Patel

Governor Mangubhai Patel, on behalf of the people of the state, greeted President Murmu on her arrival in Ujjain, the religious, cultural, and historical city of Madhya Pradesh.

He said that I am confident that the Safai Mitra Sammelan organized at the spiritual center Ujjain will spread the message of cleanliness in the country not only as a responsibility but as a sacred service.

The initiative will spread the message of building a clean, healthy, and spiritually strong country with the commitment of Safai Mitras. Today is an unprecedented and unforgettable day for the sanitation heroes who play an important role in making our society clean and healthy.

Every person in society must recognize, support, and respect the Safai Mitras who keep us healthy by keeping the cities clean with their hard work and dedication.

Congratulating the Safai Mitras, he said that the work of cleaning is a sacred service, hence Safai Mitras are worthy of respect. The state government is always ready to support them.

Governor Shri Patel said that a revolution of cleanliness has started in Madhya Pradesh, we have made cleanliness a mass movement in the true sense. Our city and citizens have imbibed cleanliness as a full-time subject. Priority is being given to the construction of sanitation facilities like construction of individual, community, and public toilets and garbage processing units in the state. He said that the Indore-Ujjain 6-lane project, which is important for the development of the nation and the state, will speed up the pace of tourism, and social and economic development by making the journey of the devotees coming to the spiritual and cultural center of Ujjain more accessible and easy.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this day will be written in golden letters. The day has become historic and has brought new gifts.

Avantika, situated on the banks of the holy river Kshipra, which has existed in every age and period, has always symbolized the progress of people through the dimensions of its development in every era.

It is said that whoever comes to the banks of Kshipra with hope, God fulfills it.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has touched every aspect of achieving the glory of being the world’s largest democracy through his works.

The message of cleanliness has been given through Safai Mitras in all areas of development. Cleanliness fortnight is being observed from the Prime Minister’s birthday 17th September to 2nd October.

The fortnight underlines the Prime Minister’s passion for cleanliness and also makes one realize the important role of sanitation workers.

Sanitation workers stand like a strong wall between sickness and life. We are fortunate that Madhya Pradesh has come second in cleanliness among all the states of the country.

Apart from this, the state capital Bhopal has also got the status of the cleanest capital of the country thus strengthening our bond with cleanliness. Indore has achieved this distinction among the cleanest cities in India for seven consecutive times.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we have decided to honour sanitation workers for their contribution to the cleanliness campaign.

According to the star ranking of each city, a reward of Rs 1,000 will be given to the sanitation workers per star ranking.

Ujjain has got three stars, hence all the sanitation workers here will be given a reward of Rs 3,000 each.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to give importance to stone craft, all the statues of Mahakal Lok will be made of stone.

This will encourage stone craft in the state. Along with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh will also now gain a place in stone craft.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the economic capital of the state, Indore has great importance and the state is celebrating the 300th birth anniversary of Rani Ahilyabai.

During her 30-year reign, Rani Ahilyabai launched many welfare schemes including Nari Sena and promotion of widow remarriage.

She established the Maheshwar saree industry to make women self-reliant.

The Chief Minister said that today President Murmu has inaugurated the construction of a 6-lane road costing Rs 1692 crore to connect Indore to Ujjain.

With this, Ujjain will be connected not only to Indore but to the entire country and made easily accessible.

A short film on the development works of Ujjain was also screened at the event, in which the development works taking place in Ujjain were shown. The ceremony started and ended with the national anthem.
