Sonu Sood tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, the actor announced on Instagram. Sonu Sood, who was appointed as the brand ambassador for Punjab’s COVID vaccination program earlier this month by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, said that despite contracting the virus, his “mood and spirit are super optimistic.” In his tweet, he also included a message for his fans that read, “Covid – hopeful.” Mood and spirit are very upbeat. Hello everybody, I’m writing to let you know that I tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. As one of my preparations, I’ve quarantined myself and am exercising extreme caution. But don’t worry, I’ll have plenty of time to fix your issues.
Sonu Sood was lauded as a social media hero for his charitable efforts for migrant workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. During and after the lockdown last year, he arranged for thousands of migrant workers to be housed and displaced refugees to be returned to their home villages.
He has also been financially assisting those who have been adversely impacted by the pandemic.
Sonu Sood made his acting debut in the 1999 Tamil film Kallazhagar and has since appeared in a host of Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. With the 2002 film Shaheed-E-Azam, he made his Bollywood debut.
In his films, he has mainly played villains. Sonu Sood is best known for his roles in films such as Dabangg, Yuva, Athadu, Jodhaa Akbar, Dookudu, Shootout At Wadala, Happy New Year, and Simmba, among others.
On Friday, Maharashtra recorded 63,729 Covid incidents, the most so far, and 398 deaths, the highest toll in 196 days since October 2nd.
This is the third time this month that the state has registered more than 60,000 incidents in a single day. With this, the overall number of cases reached 37 lakh, and the death toll reached 59,551. So far in April, the state has added approximately 9 lakh new incidents.
