Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated the growing spirit among the pilgrims to keep the places of worship clean.
The Prime Minister was reacting to a tweet thread by the Uttarakhan Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami where the Chief Minister narrated the incidents of devotees cleaning the places of pilgrimage in response to the Prime Minister’s call to keep our places of religious faith clean on Mann Ki Baat programme.
The Prime Minister tweeted :
श्रद्धालुओं की यह भावना तीर्थस्थलों की स्वच्छता के लिए हर किसी को प्रेरित करने वाली है।
(the spirit of devotees to keep religious places clean is going to inspire everyone)
Earlier Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted
माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री @narendramodi जी ने 89वें मन की बात कार्यक्रम में चार धाम आने वाले यात्रियों को स्वच्छता का संदेश दिया था जिससे प्रोत्साहित होकर सभी श्रद्धालु आज सरकार के साथ मिलकर स्वच्छ भारत अभियान में अपना सहयोग दे रहे हैं।
(Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 89th Maan Ki Baat gave message of cleanliness to the pilgrims visiting the Char Dham, taking inspiration from it the devotees are now cooperating with the government in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.)
Dhami in his tweet also said,
धार्मिक स्थलों की पवित्रता बनाए रखना हम सभी की नैतिक जिम्मेदारी है। तीर्थाटन के साथ-साथ स्वच्छता की साधना करने से एक सुखद अनुभूति व आत्मसंतुष्टि की प्राप्ति भी होती है।
(It is the moral responsibility of all of us to maintain the sanctity of religious places. Along with pilgrimage, practicing cleanliness also gives a pleasant feeling and self-satisfaction.)
Dhami in yet another tweet said,
हमारे धार्मिक ग्रंथों में कहा गया है कि स्वच्छ व निर्मल स्थान पर ही ईश्वर का वास होता है इसलिए देवभूमिवासी होने के नाते इसके देवत्व और आध्यात्मिक गरिमा को बनाए रखने का भी हमारा कर्तव्य है।
(It has been said in our religious texts that God resides only in a clean and serene place, therefore as a resident of the land of God, it is our duty to maintain its divinity and spiritual dignity.)
